Meet Alan
Hi, I’m Alan!
Sometimes you know something isn’t right, but you’re not quite sure what to do about it.
Maybe you’re recovering from a difficult relationship. Maybe you’ve spent years putting everyone else first and have lost sight of yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with confidence, identity, relationships or simply wondering, “Is this really how I want the rest of my life to look?”
These are the kinds of things we can explore together.
I’m a qualified, pre-accredited psychotherapist and an IACP member, offering online therapy both in Ireland and around the world.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in education, including teaching and leadership roles. Along the way, I also volunteered on an LGBTQ+ helpline, often supporting people through loneliness and identity struggles.
Those experiences taught me something important: people don't need to be fixed. They need somewhere they can be themselves, make sense of what's happening and work out what comes next.
That’s what I try to offer in therapy.
I’m warm, curious and straightforward. I’ll listen carefully, but I won’t simply sit silently while you do all the talking. We’ll have a conversation. Sometimes we’ll laugh. Sometimes things will feel uncomfortable. And sometimes something you’ve been trying to understand for years will suddenly make a little more sense.
My approach is pluralistic, which essentially means I adapt therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit into a particular way of doing things.
You don't need to know exactly what you need from therapy.
You don't need a diagnosis.
And you don't need to come with a neatly organised explanation of your life.
You can simply arrive as you are.
We’ll start there.
If you’d like to see whether I might be the right therapist for you, get in touch for a free 15-minute consultation.
No pressure. Just a chance to talk and see how it feels.
Je propose des services de psychothérapie en français.
Ik bied psychotherapeutische diensten aan in het Nederlands.
